THE SIN OF LYING 

𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹.

Lying is alarmingly common; even among professing believers… yet Scripture is clear: 𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, not the life of Christ.

Jesus said..

“I am the way, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡, and the life” (John 14:6). While the devil “𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡… 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭” (John 8:44).

A believer cannot walk in Christ and practice what belongs to Satan.

Sadly, people now give lies colours: “white lie,” “black lie”; but 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐢𝐧. Whether spoken, written, or signed, falsifying documents, changing figures, using false names, identities, or certificates, these are not small matters before a holy God.

Scripture warns plainly:

“𝐋𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃”

Proverbs 12:22 KJV “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: But they that deal truly are his delight”.

“𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞” (Revelation 21:8).

There is no harmless lie. There is no safe deception.

If Christ lives in us, 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐮𝐬.

Ephesians 4:25 “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another”. 

Choose truth. Walk in light. Escape judgment.

The Lord’s return is near. Soon all worldly things will pass away, and the door of grace will close. Jesus warned that many will desire to enter on that day but will not be able (Luke 13:24–25). If you have not yet received Christ, do so today—He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). No one can see the Kingdom of God apart from Him.
